The Reserve Program for Chino Valley Fire District and Central Yavapai Fire District have been combined to create one Reserve Pool.

To become a Reserve Firefighter with either department, applicants must pass a written test, physical agility, and an oral board.

All applicants must undergo a physical and psychological evaluation.

Testing for Reserve Firefighters is advertised in local newspapers and on websites.
