REGULAR MEETING OF THE FIRE BOARD
MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING JULY 19, 2007
I. CALL TO ORDER
Meeting called to order by Board Chairman Dave West at 7:10PM
II. ROLL
CALL
Board members present: Dave West, Bill Wagner, and Barbara Koon,
Board members absent: Bob McLandress and Jack Garner
III.
PUBLIC HEARING ON FISCAL YEAR 2007/2008 BUDGET
No one spoke for or against the budget.

CALL TO PUBLIC
No response.
IV. BOARD
TRAINING ON OPEN MEETING AND FIRE DISTRICT LAW.
Since two board members were absent, this training will be postponed until
September.
V. MINUTES
A. Bill Wagner made a motion to approve the minutes of Regular Session
of June 21, 2007, Special Board Session of June 10, 2007, and Executive
Session of May 17, 2007, second by Barbara Koon. Motion passed with a
unanimous vote.
VI. OLD BUSINESS
A. Discussion and possible action to approve Budget for fiscal year 2007/2008,
Resolution No. 2008-007
Chief Ginn and the board discussed the form sent to Yavapai County. A
copy is attached to these minutes. Bill Wagner made a motion to approve
Fiscal Year 2007/2008 budget in the amount of $4,203,746.00, Resolution
No. 2007-008 and send Final Budget Form to the County. Dave West seconded
the motion. Motion passed with a unanimous vote.
VII.
NEW BUSINESS
A. Discussion and possible action to approve expenditure report for June
2007
Dave West made a motion to approve expenditure report for June 2007, with
a second by Barbara Koon. Motion passed with a unanimous vote.
B. Discussion
and possible action to approve Fire Protection Services Contracts and
sign contracts with Alan and Lauri Hoover – 3500 Runway Rd, Paulden
Discussion was held on this and other annexation properties in the area.
Barbara Koon made a motion to approve fire contract with Alan and Laurie
Hoover, second by Bill Wagner. Motion passed with a unanimous vote. Board
signed contract
C. Discussion
and possible action to approve annexation request from T & C Chino
Properties, LLC 20180 – 20195 N Old Hwy 89, Paulden, Resolution No. 2007-008
This is an 8.35 acre parcel that will be subdivided and developed for
8 individual homes. The Town of Chino Valley required that developments
be included in the fire district boundaries before approving an application
to split lots for subdivision development.
Dave West made a motion to approve Resolution No. 2007-008, annexation
request from T & C Chino Properties, LLC. 20180 – 20195 N Old Hwy
89, Paulden. Bill Wagner seconded the motion. Motion passed with a unanimous
vote.
IX. CHIEF’S
REPORT
1. A truck is in Idaho at the East Complex fire. They are having some
mechanical problems with the lights.
2. We had a truck at Mormon Lake at the Birdie Fire for 7 days.
3. Prescott Forest has lifted restrictions for camp fires.
4. A preconstruction conference was held today between CVFD and Rosenbauer.
Also bid package is ready to send out for the water tenders.
5. National Stand Down Day – CVFD participated in this one day training
event. We trained on Firefighter Fatalities and injuries.
6. We sent one truck to the funeral for a Phoenix Firefighter.
7. End of Probation testing for Captains, Engineers, and Firefighters
was completed today.
